Definition of an asset : the simple version

“Assets put money in your pocket.” This is the simplest definition of an asset, and is the easiest to understand. “Rich Dad” said this to Robert Kiyosaki and his best friend at an early age.

“Know the difference between an asset and a liability, and buy assets” (Kiyosaki; Rich Dad, Poor Dad).

Assets bring money flowing into income while liabilities cause money to flow out. By buying assets, you’re creating income.
