After the success with lowering my interest rate on one of the cards, I thought maybe they could offer something as far as merging the accounts. I called and they were very accomodating. I combined the two lower credit limit cards into one and waited for that process to complete.
Today, I called to combine the remaining two. Those two calls took less than 20 minutes combined and saved me $90 this year. Yes, I’m really happy about it.

Did your Capitol One cards all have 0 balance on them? MBNA won’t let you merge cards unless they all have no balance.
Nice article. Credit card debt is horrible. If you’re in debt, you must fix it and then user other cards. To fix it, get in touch with your creditors and ask for any payout program which they must have. Also, you take help from CCCS and any debt consolidation firms. But, I would say the way to resolve credit card it to pay to your issuers directly. This way you can save bucks.
