Network Marketing
I have a neighbor who is a representative for Prepaid Legal and has been trying to recruit me (like any good network marketer) over our past couple of meetings. My mother used to sell it about a decade ago, and she said the hardest part was getting other people to pass the insurance license test. My neighbor says that now there is no exam, but a small fee for registration (like $30). When my mom had sold the service to me, I found it less than useful because the assigned lawyer did worse than another local lawyer I had used several times as far as handling a traffic ticket. I was wondering if the service had changed or improved. I also wanted to hear of any success or failure stories with any other network marketing adventures. My mother-in-law had suggested another company, I forgot the name of it, that was similar to Amway. A different neighbor had tremendous success with Primerica, moving out of the apartment and buying a 270k home north of Dallas. Of coruse it does require licensing for each of the products, life insurance, financial advising, etc. My wife is a much better salesperson than I, and a friend at her work is getting started with BeautiControl. She’s also had people advise Mary Kay to her. These are all big ones, is there more that I’m not familiar with that might be better? From what I’ve read by Kiyosaki, the wonderful thing about network marketing programs is that it is an excellent way to start a business, and get to the right side of the Cashflow Quadrant with very little startup funds, and that is an attractive prospect to me. You also see your success directly tied to the amount of effort and focus that you give it.

I had a friend who was really into Advocare. I think what you have to decide is how much time do you want to dedicate to MLM. It is a very time-consuming business. Success is also difficult to come by because so many people have a negative attitude towards MLM.
